Commissions

Thank you for thinking of Courtney Hiersche Art with your thrift art! I am not currently accepting any commissioned paintings at this time. Here is an outline of how commissions move forward:

With a commissioned art piece, you have the option to either be very involved in the layout and direction of the alterations or to let me do what I feel would look best. Typically, clients like to meet somewhere in the middle. However, I'll leave that up to you. I feel very confident I can create the parody you are envisioning. It would be so much fun! (Please note that I do not do "mash-ups")

Once we have agreed upon a painting you would like commissioned, a listing will be created for half of the cost of the commissioned piece. The listing will be on available for 7 days otherwise it will expire. This deposit is nonrefundable. 

After the first half is purchased, I will go hunting through so many thrift stores to find the perfect painting for you and your vision. When a suitable thrift-art painting is found, I will begin creating your parody painting. Turn-around time is 30 days once we have found a painting that you love (but this can be discussed if you need it quicker or if there are a lot of additions being added which could increase the turn-around time). During this time we will be in contact to discuss the painting and ensure it meets your expectations. I want you to be oh-so happy with your parody painting. 

Upon completion, another listing will be created for the remainder due. This listing will be available for 7 days before expiring. If the listing expires, the original painting will immediately be listed online for anyone to purchase, removing your reservation of the painting and forfeiting your deposit. 

The current cost of a commissioned piece is $1,000.00 USD. There are no shipping fees. 

Once the final installment is paid, the painting will ship within 14 days. I take every precaution with my original paintings to ensure that they travel safely. I work with a local company to have a custom box created for each piece to ensure that it reaches you in the best of condition. In addition, I work with a local frame shop to remove the old hardware on the back of the frame and install new, sturdy hardware and wire for hanging. With these little details, your artwork arrives ready to be hung with confidence and enjoyed immediately.
